Cantina Bisson, Portofino Ciliegiolo Rosato DOC 2021
Cantina Bisson, Portofino Ciliegiolo Rosato DOC 2021
The Ciliegiolo Portofino by Bisson is a rosé wine from Liguria, bright and intense with a particularly pleasant bouquet, evoking small red fruits like raspberry and currant, followed by fresh flowers and Mediterranean scrub. The palate is simple but very fine and satisfying, with a discreetly savory, long and persistent push. This Ciliegiolo is an easy-to-drink rosé, a refreshing and typical sip in the Riviera summer. In Tigullio, where Bisson produces this rosé, ciliegiolo has always been the "typical" red grape, but has always been interpreted in this summer and festive version. Great to accompany starters and main courses of seafood, fish stew, Genoese stuffed veal breast, and white meats. Also worth trying with pizza. Serve at a medium temperature, between 8 and 10 degrees. Tip: before pouring it for friends, chill for about twenty minutes.

About Bisson
Bisson wines were born at the dawn of 1978 when Pierluigi Lugano, an established art master and sommelier, aware of the potential he sensed was hidden in the harsh wines of Ligurian farmers, decided to attempt the "adventure" of enhancing the grapes of the Ligurian Riviera del Levante. You begin by purchasing small lots of grapes from farmers scattered throughout the area and making wine in your own cellar, carrying out numerous experiments with modern winemaking techniques to understand how to treat local grapes. The excellent results obtained have made it possible to "revive" those native Ligurian wines which by now had practically disappeared, such as for example the "Bianchetta Genovese" and the "Ciliegiolo" and to create new intuitions such as the "Musaico", a red wine with a marked personality. After a few years spent making wine from purchased grapes, aware of the fact that wine is born "in the vineyard", it was decided to plant their own vineyards, in order to achieve full control of the qualitative process of their wines. The cultivation with "strict limitation of pesticides" is the latest challenge that is being carried out, with extreme differences, in its own vineyards to guarantee quality and authenticity.
